Come behind the scenes on an outdoor commercial photography shoot in Stanthorpe, Queensland, as we head deep into the Granite Belt to photograph a new product for KickAss Products. This one had everything I love about commercial photography — a road trip, location scouting, ridiculously good landscapes, an early morning start, chasing changing light and a whole lot of mucking around between shots. We travelled into Queensland's Southern Downs to photograph the KickAss Aqua Boss, a pressurised portable water system designed for camping, 4WDing, showering, washing gear and just about anything else you can think of. After scouting locations the afternoon before, we were back out before sunrise getting cameras ready and trying to make the most of the Granite Belt landscape. Later in the day, once the light finally became perfect, the YouTube camera had to go down and the commercial cameras came out. Sometimes the best part of a photoshoot is also the part you don't manage to film.
