The Work I Have to Do Before I Can Take Better Photos...

This week I wanted to strip photography right back. One camera. One 35mm lens. No client, no brief and no real pressure to come home with anything particularly good. I headed out close to home with a kayak, a bike and a camera, looking for whatever photographs happened to present themselves along the way. And realistically, none of these images are probably going anywhere near my portfolio. But that's kind of the point. Photography isn't always about making your best work. Sometimes it's simply the excuse to get outside, slow down and pay a little more attention to what's around you. So this Field Journal became a morning paddle chasing reflections, a few questionable attempts at fishing, some rapidly changing Queensland weather, a short rail trail ride and a whole lot of wandering around looking for things worth photographing. A pretty simple day. And probably exactly what I needed. #Photography #PhotographyVlog #StreetPhotography #LandscapePhotography #OutdoorPhotography #AustralianPhotography #Queensland #FieldJournal #PhotographyAdventure #TravelPhotography #DocumentaryPhotography #35mmLens #PhotographyLife #LandscapePhotographer
